LONDON BRITAIN TOWNSHIP LAND TRUST
FREE GUIDED NATURE WALK
9:30am Saturday June 5 2004
The London
Britain Township Land Trust is sponsoring
a free educational nature walk along the Mason Dixon Trail
guided by conservationist Rick Darke, author of The
American Woodland Garden.
The trail, built by Eagle Scout Ben Crowder and other Scouts
from Troop 62, passes through mature woodlands and sunny meadows near
the headwaters of the Christina River. It links London Britain
Township to Fair Hill State Park, a 5000+ acre nature preserve located
in nearby Maryland.
COME LEARN ABOUT:
- the rich diversity of plants growing in one of London Britain
Township's newly protected natural areas
- what's special about our township's open spaces and natural areas and
how the London Britain Township Land Trust works to protect and
preserve them
- other people in your community interested in the preservation of open
space
DIRECTIONS:
The walk will start at 9:30am from the Cunningham/Bristow farm located
at 501 Elbow Lane. Take 896 south to a right on Elbow Lane and
turn right at mailbox marked 501. Or, take Flint Hill Road
southwest to a left on Elbow Lane and turn left at mailbox marked 501.
